Mats Jonasson who was born in 1945 is a famous Swedish glass designer.He is notable for his engraved lead crystal sculptures of flowers and wildlife that are manufactured by the glassworks in Målerås, Sweden and are marketed around the world.
The glassworks in Målerås was founded in 1890. All of their glassworks are handcrafted.They started by manufacturing mouthblown glazing but today's production is completely different, and the Målerås glassworks is home to both traditional Swedish glass craftsmanship and a new generation of designers and craftsmen.
Mats Jonasson became one of the most recognised names in glass art in the world and
Mats Jonasson Crystal stands for high-quality crystal, and is the largest privately owned glassworks in Sweden today.He creates both top quality household glassware and a unique form of art glass.
