It is based on an original late 18th Century design in glazed, pale cream earthenware, which is commonly described as Creamware, Pearlware, Leedsware, China Glaze or even Salt Glaze.

Leeds Pottery Creamware is also available in 'Openwork' which is the process where patterns are formed of oval diamond, heart shaped or other shaped holes, each of which is individually cut out with a simple metal tool and usually known as pierced ware.

Based on the original 18th Century pattern books, Creamware is still produced today using the same hand finished methods
